Does Money Buy Happiness & Health?
It certainly does…..help but there is one thing money don’t buy that people ignore or don’t really pay attention to.
Have you ever noticed that the people that give the good old ‘Money Is Not Everything’ ‘Money Can’t Buy You Love’ speech are usually the broke ones?
I bet sir Richard Branson or the french Bettencourt heiress, Liliane Bettencourt who is worth $36bn won’t promote or tolerate such notion, have you ever asked yourself why that is?
I asked myself the same question, Sean ‘P-Diddy’ Combs is worth $800m so why bother waking up to promote another Ciroc? Yeah, I know there are a lot of excuses as to why and the funniest one is because people depend on him to feed their families.
When you get to a certain level of wealth you are what we call a shot caller and I know for a fact you have people doing all the work for you hence that is not good enough excuse for me. What I deduced was it must be the hunger and the taste for more cash, more moolah!
This brings me to the next question, why go for more cash if it does not bring ‘happiness’ and ‘health’ ?
The simple answer is most times it brings Happiness and Health but most importantly when Mr Happiness and Health is around it helps preserve both immensely.
Think about it if someone is diagnosed with cancer, there’s no certainty that the person would survive, rich or poor but when the money is there you can most certainly afford the best care which is a form of respite on the other hand if you are broke it’s over.
The one thing for sure money can’t and won’t be able to buy or erase no matter the price tag is insecurity.
I will give you a couple (maybe three) visual examples
Do these people look unhappy to you?
Certainly not to me they don’t. They have more money than you and me put together and the reason I chose to use celebrities is because using Joe Public is not fair, they have no means, voice or platform and the perception might be they are trying to be who they are not.
Believe me it happens everywhere, as soon as you get a little bit of money you want to change something about yourself, even when you don’t have it’s still the same darn thing and it is mostly prevalent within ethnic minority.
It took me 10 years to convince a lady I know to try, I repeat, TRY wearing her natural Afro hair and be proud of it, her reasons for not getting caught donning her natural hair is because her God’s given natural Afro is not ‘beautiful and attractive’ enough.
This is just one of many examples that might take a year to write up.
