…Will Make You Cringe
Certainly does not come as a surprise to me considering what I have witnessed some people do, this article will come in parts all through March where we will look into some of the most weird and peculiar things people do that will have you laughing at times and pretty much angry at their idiocy in some cases.
Antoinette Sassou Nguesso
The wife of multi millionaire president Denis Sassou Nguesso of the democratic republic of Congo, it has been alleged that she regularly flies her clothes 8,794.5 km from Congo Brazzaville to Paris France for laundry. Evidence to this remain unclear but according to locals who for some reason detest their leadership, words to this effect have been circulating which makes me wonder if this were true, it would be one of the dumbest things I have heard unless there are no more water and detergent in the whole of Congo, plus it would be a disgrace if there no one good enough in the whole country to launder her majesty’s clothing.
The U2 front man is reportedly worth an estimated $700m. They say money makes you do things, most of them stupid like in 2003 when Bono paid $1,800 to have his favourite stetson hat flown first class from the London hotel he left it to Modena Italy for a Luciano Pavarotti concert he was attending. What was the reason he did that for? Perhaps money than he knows what to do with it.
When the late dictator inaugurated himself as the president for life of Uganda in the early 1970s, he made sure four white men carried him in a chair which he called The White Man’s Burden. He also went on to say ‘we Africans used to carry Europeans now the Europeans are carrying us, we are now the masters’. He went as far as having an extra white man holding an umbrella over him as he was paraded on that warm beautiful evening, for no reason.
Perhaps one of the dumbest purchases and loss ever made, Oscar winning actress Kim Bassinger purchased a town called Braselton in Georgia for $20m dollars hoping to make profit, I don’t know who her business advisers were but I am sure she fired them when she finally realised that the investment was a bad idea. She sold the town a couple off years later for a measly $1m.
Stay tuned for part 2.
