Blog 76: What The Rich Do Differently From The Working Class.

Rich Vs Blue Collar

I am not rich but I have had the pleasure to meet few millionaires. Having spent sometime with them I was immediately drawn to the one thing they all have in common which is their mindset. They spontaneously go for something they have in mind and think of the consequences and repercussions later. They may lose money in the process which don’t really bother some but one thing they hate to lose or play with is time.

So what is it they do differently from us that made them so successful and the rest of us wallowing in thought of waking up to 5 am to get ready for some job that we probably don’t like, mind you they have the same 24 hours in a day just like everyone else.

You may be right in saying they were ‘lucky’ because to some extent everyone needs a little bit of help as there’s no such thing as a ‘self made’ but believe me most rich people work a whole lot harder, as they will be the first to tell you that PREPARATION (hard work) + OPPORTUNITY (what you call ‘luck’) = SUCCESS. There’s nothing as bad as when the opportunity arise and you are not prepared.

I have seen first hand how the super wealthy work much harder from least likely source, 17 years ago I was on night shift as a security guard at the London Stock Exchange, you won’t believe who walked in the front door 5:30 am every morning for about 2 weeks like clock work, Sir Richard Branson, the owner of Virgin. Does he really need to wake up that early with an estimated net worth of $2.2 billion at the time?

Below are some of the things I learned from observing their success and hopefully we will all learn from them too

SECURE IN WHO THEY ARE- They don’t show off or show out because as they say people who know, know. Rich people don’t want you to know they have deep pockets. This is not very typical with some new money but for the most part they detest the attention plus they hate been a target.

BE EMPLOYED- If you want to stay employed and be rich, forget it. Although the super rich preach the importance of working for people at first because for you to be a good leader you must first learn to be the best follower you can be.

BANKS- Rich people don’t take their cash to the bank for anything other than to keep emergency funds.

Putting everything in detailed writing will take a lot of time hence the video above to help you understand why the last place a super rich will go to deposit and invest their cash is the bank. Banks are for people like us.

USE OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY- The rich never use their money however meagre the business venture may be. They use other people’s money in the form of investors and corporate loans. I asked why this is and their answer was you will never get rich spending your money.

B & I- Millionaire Robert Kiyosaki explained this perfectly. He says you have 4 types of people in this world. E– Employee, those are the type that want a secure job and wait until 70 years old to take the pension the government decide to give them. S- Self Employed or Solo, these type of people want to do it on their own and at their pace, no responsibility. B- Business builders, these are the type that build institutions and have people work for them. They don’t like answering to nobody. I- Investors, these are the type that have their money work for them so they don’t have to work for the rest of their lives. These type of people make money while they are asleep.

The rich always recommend focusing you goals on B & I and not  E & S
