Blog 76: Our Community Seek Job Opportunity More Than Creating One.

The Covid-19 pandemic awoke the consciousness of  many who were programmed by design, to think having a job, no matter how “secure” it is perceived to be, is ebbing its way to extinction.

At an early age we have been taught by our parents and guardian to get an education, that way our chances of success in the highly competitive job market may become favorable as we get older.

While this concept is quite possibly true, its sustainability has become fickle as the years trickle on. Until Covid rare its ugly head at the top of the year, many would argue that the having a job “guarantee” with benefits was a secure means to generate income.

Today it goes without saying that the idea of working for a corporation is not as secure as we once thought. The harsh reality of job loss in droves, has propelled the young and old amongst us to think outside the box.

Creating businesses has seen a sharp increase as many who were saddling in the oblivion of job dependency, finally woke up to the truth that have been shrouded for decades- you can never depend on a job, no matter how much it pays.

Artificial intelligence took over most sectors pre-Covid. Banking, service and hospitality saw the need for less human labour to levels unseen. Amazon took it to a new height when they opened their grocery stores that don’t require human presence or check out machines. Just pick any item and walk out and their app will take care of the rest.

Covid-19 further reaffirmed the realization that technology will make the future bleaker for those who are still stuck in the time warp of seeking job opportunity.

Many of those that are fortunate enough to still be in employment don’t have exit strategies in place. The best form of an exit strategy, is to work hard on yourself and learn something new to facilitate transition should the need arise.

It is far better to have a system in place to fall back on and still be employed in a job. True freedom is knowing you can walk out of any job, at any time you feel like and still be super okay financially.

New slavery is depending on a job or one source of income, because it is easiest way to be controlled. Plus no one will pay you what you are truly worth on a job.

So what do you want to be? A job seeker or a job creator?
