Named after Sir Walter Raleigh, who was instrumental in colonizing what we now know as The United States of America and creating the legend of El Dorado, “City of Gold”. He was bold and adventurous, maybe too bold and adventurous. He was arrested and executed in 1618 at the age of 65.
